Welcome to the Inks Lake Sprint Adventure Race. We want to give you some pre-race information to ensure a great race!

Directions To Inks Lake State Park: The park is located 9 miles west of Burnet on State Highway 29 to Park Road 4. Go south 3 miles to the park headquarters.

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/inks/media/pdf/inksloc.pdf

**IMPORTANT** PARKING PASS: The park is requiring all racers to display a "Too Cool" parking pass in their car window. If you do not have this pass you will be required to pay the entrance fee when you enter the park!!! Go to http://www.toocoolracing.com/InksPass.html to download pass. Support is welcome at this race but they are REQUIRED to pay their own entrance fee. Please do not give them a Too Cool parking pass!

Warning, Warning!!: The rangers do not take speeding in the park lightly! I am not kidding when I say they will ticket you if you are going over the speed limit. You have been warned.

Nav Clinic will be from 8-8:30 am Saturday in the TA area.

TA: speaking of TA, when you enter the park follow signs to campsites 40's-50's. We are in the big grassy field next to those campsites.

Maps and UTMs will be passed out at 8:00 am

Clue sheets and passports: We fashion our sprints just like our longer races. Teams receive a map and passport. Teams then complete a series of 'legs' using both map and passport. Each leg will have a different set of checkpoints that you will need to get in a specific manner... ie by boat, by foot or by bike. Each checkpoint has a punch that you punch onto a 'passport'. After each leg is completed teams come back to the main TA and receive their next set of instructions for the next leg.

Boat drop off can be done Saturday morning in the main TA.

Bike Drop off: Yes, there is a bike drop. Please allow 10-15 minutes for this on Saturday morning before race start.

Mandatory Gear: Please have working cell phone in a waterproof case on you at all times during the race.

Recommended Gear: See web site.

Weather: The race is on, rain or shine. Severe weather might make race directors have to modify the course. If you are on the water during severe weather you must pull over to the nearest land. We will do everything we can to ensure a safe, fun race.

Awards and prizes will be given to the top 3 teams in each division (a division is comprised of 5 or more teams). USARA points will be given to 2 person coed registered teams. Top ten teams in each division will also receive points towards the Too Cool Spring Sprint Series. Awards and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and coed teams for the series at the conclusion of the race.

Race cut-off will be 6 pm sharp on Saturday, April 12th

One last thing: This is a very busy park and the Bluebonnet festival and Too Cool will make this an even busier park this weekend. Please exercise caution while biking on the trails. Pedestrians have the right of way, always!! The only impression we want to leave is a good one!

Remember in adventure racing expect the unexpected!

Thank you,
Robyn & Art
